Two Magnolia Public
Schools high schools recognized among top in the nation.
Los Angeles – U.S. News & World Report today named two high schools that are part of the Magnolia Public Schools (Magnolia) network of schools, among the top in California and the nation. Magnolia Science Academy-1 (Reseda) is the top charter high school in L.A. Unified—the second year in a row a Magnolia school achieved this distinction. Magnolia Science Academy-2 (Van Nuys) was ranked in the top 6 percent of the 22,000 U.S. high schools U.S. News and World Report analyzed.
The
rankings also made Magnolia Science Academy-1 the 14th top-performing high school in California, earning a
gold medal, and first among all public high schools in the San Fernando Valley.
Magnolia Science Academy-2 achieved the silver medal and is among the top 11
percent of all California public high schools.

that top spot between our two schools in the San Fernando Valley,” said

nearly all our graduates each year to college ready to excel.

U.S. News and World Report factors in several criteria
including graduation rates, students' performance on state tests, whether
historically underserved students performed better than the state average, and college
readiness based on Advanced Placement and
International Baccalaureate participation and performance.
Each year, more than 94 percent of Magnolia
seniors are accepted to college and among Magnolia’s graduates, 98 percent
complete high school meeting UC/CSU required courses. The Reseda school was 14th among
all Los Angeles high schools for its UC acceptance rate—with 30 percent of its
seniors being accepted to UC schools.
