Three Magnolia schools were among the top 6 percent of high schools in the country
We’re thrilled to share with you the news that three Magnolia schools were among the top 6 percent of high schools in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report. MSA-1, our Reseda campus, was ranked in the top 20 best charter schools in L.A. Unified.
The 2017-18 school year makes it the 11th year in a row that Magnolia schools have been recognized by U.S. News & World Report. We are thrilled by the honor, but more than the award, we’re pleased for the repeat validation that Magnolia is providing a high-quality, college-going learning environment for all of its students—and is doing so consistently.
U.S. News & World Report reviewed 20,548 high schools in the country and 2,185 in California. They analyzed graduation rates, student performance on state tests, whether historically underserved students performed better than the state average and college readiness based on Advanced Placement participation and performance.
Here are Magnolia’s highlights:
• MSA-1 (Reseda) was ranked in the top 4 percent of high schools in the country and top 6 percent in California.
• MSA-3 (Carson) was in the top 6 percent of high schools in the country and top 10 percent in California.
• MSA-2 (Van Nuys) Was in the top 6 percent of high schools in the country and top 11 percent in California.
This prestigious recognition would not be possible without the hard work, day in and day out, of our teachers, staff, families and students. Our goal from day one has been to provide a high-quality public school choice for families, because all students deserve access to a challenging education. Nearly all of our students go on to college prepared to succeed because we’re working hard to open doors of opportunity for every single child that comes through our doors.
We will continue to provide a challenging STEAM-focused education that will prepare students to succeed in college. But equally importantly, we will continue to reinforce core values through character development classes to cultivate respect for self and others. I strongly believe that the reason our students excel is because they are not only expected to master a challenging curriculum, but we are daily training them to develop and live by the values that will make them contributing members of society.
