Catrina Weston is a passionate advocate for family partnerships, believing firmly in the power of a community to uplift our youth. With over 15 years of experience in youth development programs, parent and family outreach, and school operations, Catrina has joined Magnolia Public Schools as the Assistant Director of Community Schools to advance transformative strategies in Community Schools.
Catrina recognizes that strong parent and guardian partnerships are essential for ensuring our youth's success. She is dedicated to creating opportunities for families to have a voice in their children’s education. As a parent herself, Catrina understands the unique challenges that can prevent parents and guardians from being actively involved or informed about how they can make a difference in schools. This perspective fuels her advocacy as a parent leader. She believes in community school transformation and employing initiatives that incorporate family support services, parent voice, and creating a warm and welcoming environment for families to build community within our schools. In her free time, Catrina enjoys exploring new places with her husband and four sons, whether it's a road trip, a visit to a local park, a day at an amusement park, or a stroll through a farmer’s market. She also loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures through foods, museums, local events, and building connections within communities. |
